Wyckham Blackwell Hits 125
Wyckham Blackwell Limited started business in Hampton in Arden 125 years ago and remains an independent family owned company.
Starting as home-grown timber merchants, the company has been involved in saw milling, fencing, specialist joinery, merchanting, and DIY. We now concentrate on timber engineered products: trussed rafters, metal web beams, timber frame, and our own smartroof ® 'room in the roof' system.
During the World Wars the company diverted its activities to help the War effort, including supplying ash for Mosquito aircraft and oak for the Mulberry Harbours. The company has always maintained its local links, with many of our current employees coming from Hampton and the surrounding villages.
Denis Butler, Chairman since 1961, has built up a strong management and design team and is always looking to expand into new markets. Although a lot of product goes into the new housing market, we have a good order book and full employment entering 2009, with an exciting range of products to promote once the ecomomy improves.
CEO John Taylor wonders what the next 125 years will bring, but is certain that the company will remain forward thinking, innovative, and proactive to customers' requests.
100 miles of easi-joist

Wyckham Blackwell has been supplying easi-joists since 2004 and we recently celebrated passing the production landmark of 100 miles manufactured.
In this time we have seen easi-joist gain an increasing market share due to its unique advantages:
Bredon Extra Care in Tewkesbury
Supplied and erected by Wyckham Blackwell, this project exploits the versatility of trussed rafters and spandrel panels.
Our in-house design team made full use of their years of experience to provide the client Pettifer Construction Ltd with an end result that is both visually pleasing while being time and cost efficient.
Check-Out These Super-span Trusses
Having supplied the trussed rafter roof to the Aldi Superstore in Meir, Staffordshire 3 years ago, Wyckham Blackwell were recently contracted by Spiform Ltd to supply trusses for a new extension.
The trusses (pictured) were designed to clear-span 17.5m -some of the largest trusses recently manufactured in our factory.
Gullwing Roof Panels at University
Wyckham Blackwell recently completed the manufacture of bespoke curved stressed-skin roof panels. These were of a unique design: pre-insulated and clear-spanning in excess of 12metres.
